I believe the United States is mentioned three times in the Bible. All three occurrences are in the book of Daniel. The book of Daniel is self described as a 'closed' book and not understood until 'the time of the end' until all the 'end time' players are in position. Therefore the United States is presented in the context of the 'end time prophecies'; and it is presented in symbol and description.

For a description of the time for 'the last days,' we look to the minor prophets. The first event associated with 'the last days' is the rebirth of Israel as a state.  In Matthew it states that the duration of the 'end time' will be one generation.

The United States is first presented as a super power that is respected for its military power which is unbeatable by any military power that thinks to stand up to it. It is described as a 'great dominion' and is primarily mentioned in the Bible because it is a close ally of Israel. But, the power and respect are short-lived and brief, and the super power is deeply humiliated and relegated to a third world status.

The next mention of the United States is presented to set the 'time' for this humiliation. An event is described where the United States, referred to as 'the chief king,' leads a coalition of nations against a middle east bully. The coalition is led against the bully twice and the second incursion completely decimates the government and the military of the bully. The previous actions and location of this bully power are described, and the nation is even named as the ancient land of the Medes, which would be modern Iraq. During this event the power of the coalition is described, at some point, as being greater than the power of the original bully power; as evidenced by he quelling of the unrest of the various tribes and factions fighting for power after the original conquest. It is shortly after this power is exhibited that the government of the leader of the coalition is 'broken'.

The last mention of the United States, called a 'great dominion,' describes the time of its humiliation in more detail. The time is described as during the term of the fourth king or president of ancient Persia, or Iran. We are now in the time of the fourth president of Iran since the office of Prime Minister was abolished. This time in history is also marked by the anxiety that Iran is causing in the western nations, or Grecia, by their perception of the strength of Iran. The president of the United States during this time, is described as a person that does as he wants regardless of the consequences. Each president seems to find more power to use in his official duties. Presiden Obama uses more power of his office than any before him with his vacation appointments and executive orders. The last president of the United States, according to prophecy, will 'rule according to his will.' When the office of the president has been abandoned, the government of the United States will be administered by an entity with representatives from the 'four winds of the earth'. And, for at least awhile, there will be no federal government of the United States.
